“When you think of chocolate, it is usually paired with something else. There is chocolate and caramel, chocolate and fruit, chocolate and peanut butter – you know, the usual stuff. But have you ever heard of chocolate and bleu cheese, chocolate and sweet potato or chocolate covered bacon?

Those are just a few of the more than 200 combinations that Memphis’ very own chocolatier, Phillip Ashley Rix, has concocted in his lab of delights. Not only is he one of few African-American chocolatiers, he is a savvy businessman with an entrepreneurial spirit. Let’s take a look at the man and his plan.”
